This is a guide for people who are interested to write sinusbot scripts with typescript.
AS A SIDE NOTE: Typescript typings are still under development and not 100% finnished
you can get the typings from a seperate branch from the scripting-docs repo on github: https://github.com/SinusBot/scripting-docs/tree/typescript

Installation
Bash:
# create a new folder and switch into it
mkdir sinusbot-ts-example
cd sinusbot-ts-example

# initialze npm
npm init

# install typescript and the typings directly from github
npm install --save-dev typescript sinusbot/scripting-docs#typescript

# initialize typescript with an empty tsconfig
npx tsc --init

open the created tsconfig.json
and set the option target to "target": "es2020", and lib the option lib to "lib": ["es2020"],

the file now looks something like this:

JSON:
{
  "compilerOptions": {
    /* Basic Options */
    // "incremental": true, /* Enable incremental compilation */

    // "emitDecoratorMetadata": true, /* Enables experimental support for emitting type metadata for decorators. */
  }
}

now create the file where you actually intend to write your script
`touch example.ts`

and add the following boilerplate code
JavaScript:
///<reference path="node_modules/sinusbot/typings/global.d.ts" />

registerPlugin({
  "name": "TypeScript Example",
  "description": "a brief description of what this script does",
  "version": "1.0.0",
  "author": "YourName",
  "backends": [],
  "vars": []
}, () => {

  const engine = require("engine")
  engine.log("Hello World!")

})

Note: the first tripple slash comment is very important, it tells typescript from where to load the initial global typings!

when you want to generate js code out of it you can simple run the command tsc and you should be done

To import typings which are not directly accessible you can use:
Code:
import { Client } from "sinusbot/typings/interfaces/Client"

all interface declarations can be found in the folder sinusbot/typings/interfaces/
