I guess it could be possible, but you better ask that over at their support, since it has got nothing to do with the bot itself.

That's only partly true. The following method for example would require some sort of change in your bot:

It would be awesome if you could tweak it a little bit so one could use this method.

Just replace the configured youtube-dl path with a wrapper script around whatever you want to be called.

Yeah that's the problem because the version check doesn't work anymore. Maybe you can add an option to skip the check. The output of the wrapper script to "youtube-dl --version" would be:
ProxyChains-3.1 (http://proxychains.sf.net)
2015.07.18

instead of only
2015.07.18

You could echo 2015.07.18 as the first thing the script does. But I'll probably add a parameter to skip the version check.
