Hey,

alright so I did the "yum -y update", took quite a long time but it finished, tried to install bot and it did the same thing so I did "yum-complete-transaction" and that fixed it.

BUT, It is doing the same thing that it was on a different VPS, reason I got this new one was to test it.

What it does is after installing everything, Teamspeak server and then Sinusbot, If I reboot the server it won't come back online. seems to only happen after installing sinusbot.
I am going to create a bug thread about this now.

Nope, won't come back online and I either have to restore a backup (That doesn't have the SinusBot) (Haven't got any for new server as it's always a fresh install anyway) or do a re-image of the OS, therefore resulting in doing all this yum update stuff again, very frustrating.

I have posted a thread about it in the bugs section, but as I said there, I don't actually think it's the SinusBot, I think it has something to do with the servers I have.

Edit* By not to do with the SinusBot I mean I don't think its an error within SinusBot, But my VPS's themselves, I mean they reboot fine, just not after I install SinusBot, No idea why.

I'm using Ubuntu 17.10 and I have this error message:

Error on line 64. Report this to the author at https://forum.sinubot.com/threads/sinusbot-installer-script.1200/ only. Not a PN or a bad review, cause this is an error of your system not of the installer cript. Or have a look directly to your error: https://github.com/Sinusbot/installer-linux/blob/master/sinusbot_installer.sh#L64

When I try to run the command with sudo I have this error message:

Code:
bash: /dev/fd/63: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

Thank you in advanc.

[Ger] Kleine Frage:

Hello helpful folks,
just tried to install sinusbot on a fresh root server with Ubuntu 17.04.
The script is getting stuck at "Installing necessary packages. Please wait..." every time.
Has anybody an idea why?

Thanks in advance

Note: I did not install a fresh ts3 server, just copied my old one from the old root. Could this create difficulties?

Hey,

I don't think so, I moved from a CentOS server to Ubuntu by a complete backup and I had no problems.

Just wondering how long you left the install on 'Installing necessary packages'? As it can take a very long time, I found that Ubuntu is extremely slow compared to CentOS.

Regards.

Installing necessary packages. Please wait...
On a fresh install this could take more than 10 minutes cause of the fresh installation. Many hosters doesn't update der ISOs so the system have to download all missing files and install them.
Also the internet conmection could be the problem.
Run the installer and wait maybe hours. It doesn't got stuck.

You could also run this and check it yourself:
Code:
apt-get install screen x11vnc xvfb libxcursor1 ca-certificates bzip2 psmisc libglib2.0-0 curl less cron-apt ntp python iproute2 dbus libnss3 libegl1-mesa x11-xkb-utils libasound2 -y

@Ironeer

Hey,

I don't think so, I moved from a CentOS server to Ubuntu by a complete backup and I had no problems.

Just wondering how long you left the install on 'Installing necessary packages'? As it can take a very long time, I found that Ubuntu is extremely slow compared to CentOS.

Regards.
Exactly. Most times this is caused by the hosters which doesn't update their installisos...

What he said :)

As example, with the place I have my VPS they install the 'bare minimum' and expect you to install everything yourself, most places do this.

I'm lucky it is on a very fast network so it only took roughly 15 minutes or less to install the whole bot. (Bolck of the waiting was where you are up to)

Thanks for your quick help, I think you're perfectly right because I did not update anything:confused:
I just ran the command but got an Error while processing ntp, after that the script showed the same error

Hey,

Can you try just 'apt-get update' and see if you receive the same error?

Note that this command may take a long time as well.
